Go and it's relation to Plan 9

--

At first, I was thinking the logo looked similar to Plan 9's
"Glenda".

It was pointed out to me on a forum that, "Plan 9's Glenda and
Go's gopher were both created by Renee French -- who is married
to Rob Pike."

  http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=8320

Though, there's no source attributed to this.

Perhaps it's relation to Plan 9 or the apparent fact that Google
uses Plan 9 a lot had been lost on me.

  http://go-lang.cat-v.org/

This site aims to collect various information and other re-
sources about the Go programming language designed by Ken Thomp-
son, Rob Pike and Robert Griesemer at Google.

Interesting! If I find more, I'll post - but I just find it weird
that these connections are not so clear. It makes sense that
Google would use Plan 9, perhaps for their "cloud". It makes even
more sense that Google would want a Plan 9..err, cloud, scripting
language. Perhaps Go fits this bill well.
